Roberson Chrysler Jeep
Roberson Chrysler Jeep in Southeast Salem is undergoing an interior remodel of their existing showroom with construction beginning soon. The remodel features updated finishes, a new storefront window system, and LED lighting. The plan encloses 2,800 square feet of existing outdoor display area to create a more open and welcoming showroom. Additional area was used to enhance the customer experience by installing a coffee bar and merchandise boutique, as well as expanding the restrooms. Completion is estimated for June 2017.
Marion County Sheriff’s Office
Design is currently underway for the Marion County Sheriff Central District Office, including Parole & Probation offices. The 31,000 SF one-story office building is scheduled to be built in 2017 with a possible completion in February or March of 2018. As shown above, the building will be one of two possible schemes, a sloped truss roof or a low-slope roof with parapets.
JEA Senior Living
JEA Senior Living are opening six new facilities across the country over the next two years. Each new construction building is 34,491 square feet with 66 beds, 50 living units (some shared), two living and two dining areas, a hair salon, an activity coordinator, as well as a large commercial kitchen. There are also two outside areas in each, a courtyard, and a fenced area in the back of the building. The exteriors range from all brick, brick and stucco or brick and lap siding with composition asphalt roofing on roof trusses. Buildings are wood framed on a slab on grade concrete floor.

- Robinwood Landing Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Lansing Township, MI – In for permit, construction is scheduled for March 2017 and is estimated to be completed by December 2017.
- Greenville Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Greenville, SC – Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2017, completed January 2018.
- Memphis Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Memphis, TN – Drawings are underway and construction will begin in March 2017, completed February 2018.
- Maplewood Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Maplewood, MN – Drawings are underway and construction will begin in April 2017, with anticipated completion in March 2018. (shown above, right)
- Whitehall Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Whitehall, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh – Drawings underway but no dates have been set yet for start of construction.
JEA Senior Living of Vancouver, Washington has built facilities previously in states like Tennessee and South Carolina, but is building for the first time in Arkansas, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
The Vasile Apartments, NE Bryant St., Portland
The Vasile is a new modern-concept apartment building located at the corner of NE Grand and NE Bryant Street in Portland, Oregon. Still in design phase, the new two building, 12 unit 3-story apartment building is to be built on a vacant 9,594 square foot lot in NE Portland, offering more housing choices to Portland’s rapidly-growing population.
Each building of The Vasile is 6,804 square feet and has (6) three bedroom units and (6) two bedroom units. Included in each are a large indoor bike storage area. Each unit has an exterior deck or patio and a sleek, modern design.
Maps Credit Union, Stayton
Maps Credit Union of Salem plans to open their first branch in Stayton, Oregon in 2017. Carlson Veit Architects is currently in design phase for the 79-year old company’s next location. The new 5,926 square foot one-story building will house a 3,490 square foot Maps Credit Union as well as 2,322 square feet of tenant space. The structure will be built on a large 1.2 acre lot and will include a 26 stall parking lot with a covered drive-thru for the Credit Union. Exterior materials are brick, stone and lap siding with a 5 inch exposure. Completion is expected to be February, 2017.
Holy Family Academy
Carlson Veit Architects has complete conceptual design for a classroom and support space building for the small private Catholic school in Brooks, Oregon. The 5,000 square foot building will expand the schools ability to serve their growing student population and provide new media and specialty learning spaces.

Albany Carousel & Historic Museum
The downtown of Albany, Oregon will soon get a bright, new family attraction sure to bring vibrancy and life to the city center. A groundbreaking ceremony was held Tuesday, May 24 marking the start of construction for The Historic Carousel and Museum’s brand new 22,000 square foot building at 503 First Avenue W. The first floor will be 14,000 square feet and the 8,000-square-foot basement will include a workshop, storage area and volunteer break room. The building will be home to the unique volunteer community-built carousel and museum showcasing all the work that has gone into creating 52 different animals to make up Albany’s first carousel attraction. The building is set to be complete in July, 2017.
Local volunteers have been working for the past ten years carving and painting 50 animals and creatures for this one-of-a-kind carousel, inspired by Salem’s carousel. To learn more, visit our News page.
A New Space For Northwest Innovations at Chemeketa Community College
The Chemeketa Applied Technology Welding Building and Machining/Drafting/Engineering buildings are now complete with focus turning to the last of the Chemeketa Applied Technology bond project, a remodel of Building 42 for Northwest Innovations (NWI), Chemeketa’s catering business, presently in construction phase. The building will house a 3,200 square foot kitchen, offices, and support spaces. GBC Construction is the general contractor for this project.
